Charlotte Concerts is honored to present violin virtuoso Ray Chen. Mr. Chen, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition (2009) and the
Yehudi Menuhin Competition (2008), is one of today’s most compelling young musicians. He plays a 1721 “Macmillan” Stradivarius, awarded to him at the 2008-09 Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York. BBC Music Magazine calls his talent “violin playing of the
highest order.” Mr. Chen is enjoying praise for his “hugely exciting” debut album, “Virtuoso” (Sony Classical). We welcome Ray Chen to Charlotte, where he will be performing accompanied by a pianist.
